News
Residents in the Sefton Housing Market Renewal areas welcomed new Housing Minister John Healey yesterday as he took a whistle stop tour of the area.
Appointed in June, the Minister was in the region for the TUC conference in Liverpool.
During the visit he looked around the new development of St Elizabeth's Place on Hawthorne Road and the remediation work happening on the new Tesco site in Bootle before meeting residents in the Klondyke area to discuss how funding would help the programme.
Mr. Healey was then taken to the new Rimrose Hope Primary School showing how Housing Market Renewal is benefiting the wider community before heading off to Knowsley.
Alan Lunt Housing Market Renewal Director for Sefton Council said:
"We were delighted to welcome the Minister to Sefton and show him the major developments that have been happening here. There's been a great deal of hard work going into the HMR programme and it was a great opportunity to show him what we are achieving."
