Art for Places
Art for Places is a unique and inspirational project aimed at helping communities re-shape their neighbourhoods through public art.
Providing a ground breaking international arts programme that will build a bridge between regeneration and the arts, Art for Places is giving local people the opportunity to work with artists and other organisations to improve the quality of life within their neighbourhoods.
Art for Places is a three year programme creating three public art commissions, one in each of the local authority areas involved in Merseyside's Housing Market Renewal (HMR) Programme: Sefton, Wirral, and Liverpool. In addition to the commission, a community engagement programme with a wide variety of activities will run in each area.
The project is run by NewHeartlands, Liverpool Biennial, and the Arts Council North West, and is delivered in partnership with the local authorities and housing associations.
The first area in the series to commission the public art work was Sefton.
