Mission

Stabilise the NewHeartlands area with a diverse range of tenures, house values and household income groups. Every household will have access to a home of a high standard in neighbourhoods with high quality physical environments which are provided with a range of employment opportunities and good quality health, education and other services.


Aim 1 To restructure the NewHeartlands housing market by seeking to:

• Create the conditions and confidence for increased private sector investment to increase the supply of new housing.
• Provide a wider range of better quality property types, values and tenures to cater for existing and future residents and especially to attract economically active families.
• Provide affordable housing options for lower income households.
  

• Maximising employment and enterprise opportunities for the local community generated by housing market interventions.
• Ensuring housing market interventions link with and reinforce economic initiatives to address worklessness.
  

Aim 3 To achieve sustainable neighbourhoods through a community driven approach and support people who are 'Living through Change' by seeking to:

• Reduce the incidence and fear of crime and anti-social behaviour and promote respect.
• Improve the existing housing stock and quality and image of the local environment making NewHeartlands neighbourhoods the residential locations of choice.
• Inform, involve and engage local communities at all stages in the development and delivery of the programme on Merseyside
• Improve market intelligence and regulatory function of private rented housing.
